Typical Pregnancy Symptoms

Since every woman is different, you won't be able to use this list like a checklist. Some women have no obvious pregnancy symptoms besides a missed period. Other women have lots of symptoms. Many women have some symptoms one day, and a different set another day. You might notice that many symptoms are similar to those of PMS...which is natural since hormones are responsible! That said, here are some of the most common symptoms (in no particular order).

  • Food cravings
  • Darkening of areolas (the skin around your nipples)
  • Cramping or spotting (but no period)
  • Fatigue
  • Frequent urination
  • Tender, swollen breasts
  • Enlarged breasts
  • "Morning sickness" (which might not be just in the morning!)
  • Missed period
If you have symptoms like these, we invite you to come in for a free pregnancy test. Unlike those you buy at a drug store, the test we use is capable of detecting HcG (a pregnancy-related hormone) a few days BEFORE you miss your period. If you are expecting your period in the next 4 days, the test we use should be accurate...give us a call for an appointment!

Have you already taken a home pregnancy test? Did the test give a positive result or a negative result?
